Next Level Trainings Leadership Team Raises $122,835 In 28 Days To Fight Human Trafficking In Central Ohio
COLUMBUS, Ohio – 35 adults, ranging from 18 to 67 years of age, put together an impactful community service project to support women and children who have fallen victim to human trafficking and domestic violence in the Central Ohio region. Having only begun this project one month prior, the 24th leadership class of Next Level Trainings declared to raise $114,000 for 1DivineLine2Health, a local 501(c)3 non-profit organization that provides survivor care, support, and love for those who have been victimized by sex trafficking. Within 28 days, the leadership participants not only met their declaration, but surpassed it, raising over $122,835.
With the intention of creating passion, love, and peace, the team chose to support 1DivineLine2Health and their mission to embrace, support, and empower as many members of our community who have felt the effects of human trafficking and domestic violence as possible. They provide healthcare, shelter, food, and access to recovery services and a safe environment to rebuild the lives of these women and children in need.
“Through our leadership curriculum, we learned how to stretch ourselves far beyond what we thought was possible.” says Brandi Braker, communications co-captain. “As our team rallied together and learned more about this organization, 1DivineLine2Health’s mission and vision became our own. Our commitment to breaking the cycle of trafficking and violence became the source of our inspiration.”
They reached out to corporations, local businesses, family, and friends to support this cause. Their campaign reached far and wide, spreading awareness and gaining support throughout Columbus and many other cities in Ohio, across the country, and around the world.
In addition to raising funds for 1DivineLine2Health, participants in Next Level Trainings:
• Hosted a family fun event to bring the community together and raise funds.
• Donated around 5,000 tangible goods
• Held an improvement day project and made a lasting impression on one of the four drop-in center houses. They painted a mural, did yard work and landscaping, and interior improvements.
• Spent over 3,500 volunteer hours working on projects
Esther Flores, founder of 1DivineLine2Health, emphasized the true impact of our team’s support: “VIP 24 took a stand for the mission of 1DivineLine2Health. They ultimately discovered the gift and power of love currency which is used to dispel darkness in our community. This reality was found as they used their time, talents, and passion to serve our women, children, and transgender folks who have been victims of human trafficking. Love saves the world one heart at a time.”
