ADVISORY: D.C. Business to take Youth Action to the Next Level
Restaurant supports fundraising efforts for youth education programming
WASHINGTON, DC – A local D.C. restaurant is coming together with Next Level Trainings to support a youth leadership mentoring program. Businesses across the country are donating high volumes of goods and services to benefit the work of a Philadelphia-based nonprofit, Youth Action. Youth Action is educating the youth through providing them with training, mentorship, funding, and other resources to lead and serve their communities. Their work supports systematic change to end the cycle of poverty in Philadelphia.
WHAT:
The event is a community gathering in which a local D.C. restaurant is supporting fundraising efforts to donate and celebrate food and community. “Cocktails for a Cause” is happy hour that will feature small appetizers at Irish Channel Restaurant & Pub with proceeds going to Youth Action.

WHY:
The event is being held as part of a 31-day-long fundraising campaign by Next Level Trainings’ VIP 6 - Philadelphia class. Communities across the country are impacted by poverty. Youth Action’s mission is to support socially responsible leadership among middle & high school students by providing them with training, socially responsible leadership mentoring, and funding to increase their social awareness of community concerns and lead service initiatives in their communities. Working with schools and communities throughout Philadelphia and Upper Darby in Pennsylvania, Youth Action offers leadership mentoring that has impacted over 5,000 students, boasts a 100% high school graduation rate, over 10,000 hours of community service, and has awarded over $40,000 in scholarships.
