Next Level Trainings leadership program raises $137K in 34 days for LifeTown

COLUMBUS, Ohio, – Next Level Trainings 17th leadership class is celebrating massive results they created for a local nonprofit. Leaders in the program not only learned skills for their personal and professional lives but also how to impact the lives of thousands in the Central Ohio community.

Next Level Trainings put together a community service project as part of their leadership program for LifeTown Columbus, a non-profit that houses a mini town that provides a safe space for children with disabilities to learn life skills critical to their own self-agency and success as adults. The team declared they would raise $117,000 for LifeTown – by the end, they raised $136,917 in donations over the course of only 34 days.

"We at LifeTown are in awe of what the Next Level Trainings leadership class was able to achieve with such a short period of time. We have seen and feel their love and have immense gratitude for how they have revitalized our organization," said Esther Kaltman, Executive Director of LifeTown Columbus.

The 17th leadership class also collected 1,868 tangible goods including iPads, food, and cleaning supplies. The parking lot of LifeTown was re-sealed, thanks to the efforts of this campaign. In total, the team spent 3,776 volunteer hours with LifeTown over a four-week span.

As part of their efforts, the leadership team hosted four events to benefit the campaign. The Family Fun Day was a fundraiser put on by Next Level Trainings at the Makoy Center in Columbus, Ohio. During the event, there was a silent auction as well as face painting, games, and a live DJ. The Improvement Day also took place in September, where volunteers came to LifeTown and made repairs, painted, organized learning and storage spaces, and installed new hardware.

The celebration of the accumulative efforts took place on September 27, 2018. Students, coaches, family, and LifeTown staff were present at the school to be handed an oversized check in a celebration ceremony.

"I am amazed at the experience I've had with LifeTown Columbus. Their commitment to the enrichment of children's lives is unmatched. Supporting LifeTown has been a very rewarding experience," said Bryan Huffman, student in the 17th leadership class of Next Level Trainings.
