Service projects by leadership trainees stun nonprofit recipients

Columbus, OH – This winter, Amy Eldridge has discovered what it means to have a “love bomb” dropped on her organization.

The executive director of the Kaleidoscope Youth Center, which serves LGBTQ youths in central Ohio, received a phone call out of the blue in January.

On the other end of the line was a member of a group going through Next Level Trainings. As part of the leadership program, participants are required to choose a charity to help.

“We weren’t aware of this program,” Eldridge said. “They just said: ‘We want to support you — and get rid of any limited thinking. Open your mind and your vision; what’s the most wonderful thing that could happen to this organization?’”
